The date for the 2010 ASGA Annual Conference has been set for Tuesday, 26 October, 2010. The theme of this year’s conference will be New Directions in Sport, and will focus on new directions and developments in sports business, policy, funding, opportunities and new developments in the industry.
Please note that the Annual ASGA conference also doubles as the Annual General Meeting of the Association and this will be held at the latter part of the day, followed by drinks with the ASGA board.
New Venue
This year the conference will be hosted at Australia’s newest first-class sporting venue, AMMI Park, which boasts state of the art conference facilities and a magnificent view of the stadium.
Key note Speaker.
ASGA is extremely excited to announce that the key note speaker at this year’s conference will be Mr Kevan Gosper. Kevan has a wealth of knowledge and experience in sport, sports administration and business. He is a former Chair and CEO of Shell Australia and head of Shell’s Asia Pacific Operations out of London, and a director of Crown Casino Limited, Visy Industries and Lion Nathan. His sporting pedigree is second to none. He was an Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games medalist, a Vice President of the International Olympic Committee, Vice President of the Sydney Olympic Organizing Committee, Chief of the IOC Press Commission, Deputy Chair of the IOC Organizing Commission for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and Inaugural Chair of the Australian Institute of Sport.
