The sporting and active lifestyle goods industry today welcomed the announcement that Justin Box, Country Manager for New Balance, has been appointed to the Board of the Australian Sporting Goods Association (ASGA).
Justin was appointed at the 19 March Board meeting as a wholesale director.
President of the ASGA Board, Andrew Reed, said “I’m very pleased to welcome Justin to the Board of ASGA. He has over 20 years’ experience with the sporting and active lifestyle goods industry and is very well respected in the sector.”
“Justin started with the New Balance sales agency for seven and a half years, before moving to the head office. He’s moved steadily up the ranks, starting with Key Accounts, before becoming the Queensland state sales manager and then the national sales manager, before taking up the pivotal role of Country Manager,” Mr Reed said.
“The Board will continue considering potential appointees with the right skill set and experience to fill the remaining Retail Director’s position. We’ll make an announcement about that at the appropriate time,” he said.
Mr Box said ““ASGA is an important part of the sports industry network that, for a long time, we at New Balance have relied on the data and the relationships that help us grow our brand. Moving into the future I would like to see more people involved in networking and opportunities around the ASGA brand that can benefit all brands and the industry as a whole.”
The Australian Sporting Goods Association was formed in 1981 as the industry association representing a broad spectrum of sporting goods and active lifestyle industry participants, including manufacturers, importers, wholesalers and retailers.
ASGA is a leading industry voice on issues impacting the health, trade, regulation and taxation of the sporting and active lifestyle industries. ASGA aims to foster market growth, provide services and advocate for increased participation in sport and physical activity.
